The Owners of this contemporary summer home retained ZH Architects to develop a master plan that consisted of relocating the pool and landscape elements and converting the garage into a guest suite. The aesthetic was to be clean and modern and provide a seamless integration with the existing house. Large windows were installed in the converted garage to allow the surrounding landscape to be viewed through the house. Responsibilities included research of zoning laws and codes applicable to the site including restrictions and requirements as the property was located in a aquifer district and high wind zone. The project included coordination with the zoning board of appeals, filing with local agencies, and coordination with the surveyor and structural engineer.
